Last Friday, I started home shortly after my last class. I didn't get to bed until late, of course (why sleep when you can make your brother watch Olan Rodgers videos?). Saturday morning, my mom and I got up to get to a Bible quiz meet before the sun had started the trek across the Atlantic.
~Disclaimer: I have no idea where the sun was at 3:30am CST. I just know that it was pitch-black outside~
I quizmastered for the first time Saturday and absolutely loved it! My mom teased me about liking the power, but I think that it had more to do with the rolly chair that I got. In any case, the day flew by, and soon we were headed home in the church van. My sister and best friend and I crammed into the back seat where we ate some candy and sang Christmas carols. And we laughed. A lot.

Sunday morning, I got to see my church family, and we met my grandparents for lunch. I didn't want to leave, but I needed to get back to campus. So we took a rather leisurely ride back to college, stopping for Panera Bread and Starbucks because food and espresso. When we got back to the dorm, I did some unpacking and organizing. Then I got to watch the 2005 version of Pride & Prejudice with my roommate and one of our friends. It was the perfect ending to a perfect weekend!
But because of all the business of this past week, I am wiped out. Fall break is this weekend, and I feel like it could not come at a better time. When asked about my big fall break plans, I tell them about how my sister and I are just going to watch movies. I am so excited to get to spend more than two days with my family for the first time in weeks. I'm also hoping to have nothing too pressing school-related that I have to do. And that means, of course, that I've been trying to get lots of stuff done this week. Part of me balks at the idea of getting a head start on something that isn't due for quite some time, but I realize that I will be glad for the slight reprieve in a few days.
In the meantime, though, my brain is over-flowing with terms and essays questions. Three cheers for the ice cream at supper!
