My little sister kept reminding me all weekend about how I hadn't written a blog post for a couple of days. Since it has been nearly a week, I decided that she might be right about it being time for a new one :)
The reason that it has been so long is because I've been on fall break since Friday at 12:39pm (not to be overly specific or anything). My family came down to pick me up on Friday, right after my last class that day. Saturday was spent doing nothing besides reading, drinking coffee, and watching a couple of movies. Sunday, we went to church in the morning and spent all afternoon being lazy. On Monday, we went to Barnes & Noble and Marshall's and Chick-Fil-A. We also rented some movies and made turtle brownies for the evening. It was so restful and relaxing!
Monday night, I did not want to go to bed. About halfway through the evening, it hit me that it was my last full day with my family for a couple of weeks. As I was sitting there, surrounded by everything home, I started to get a little homesick. I thought, "This is ridiculous. I am here with my family, and I am already missing them. This cannot get in the way of loving every minute home." So I shoved that knot in my stomach aside with a brownie and some hot tea.
Question: How do you go to bed at a reasonable time when you don't want to waste any time you have at home? Restful as this past weekend has been, I am not caught up on sleep at all. :)
This morning, my mother and sister brought me back down to school. I am so blessed to be attending this college where I am making new friends and learning how to serve God with my life. I'm also blessed to come from such a home and family that I miss them so terribly when I'm at school.
And so the countdown for the next trip home begins. Until then, though, I'm excited to see what God has in store for me. :)
