Blessings

The last three days have been rough. And while today has been better, it is never a bad time to intentionally think about some of the blessings in my life.

  • College. I complain about the workload, stress about due dates and tests, and battle homesickness. Sometimes, doubt about what I'm doing here this fall (and plan on doing for the next four years) slips into my mind. I forget that God not only called me to pursue nursing and attend this university, but that He is faithful and will provide for me. So when I count college as a blessing, I don't just mean the academics and the new friends. I also mean the lessons that God is teaching me in this season of my life.
  • Family. Big shoutout to my mother for texting me Scripture references throughout my day and offering encouragement and prayer. Even though my dad and I talk for maybe just thirty minutes a week (neither one of us just adore talking on the phone), those conversations brighten my entire day. My siblings have both been great about keeping in touch, and my best friend and I still have really random conversations regularly. And I haven't even mentioned yet my family-in-Christ. Thanks so much to everyone who has been praying for me! (And if you've sent me any sort of mail ever, be sure to know that it brought me so much joy)
  • New Friends. As my roommate pointed out today, we've been here for nearly two months. It's insane! I feel like I moved in yesterday, but I also feel like I've been here forever. And I've met so many people and made so many friends. You guys rock.
  • Cookies and chocolate. 'Nough said.
  • Tea. I drink so much tea every day. I blame my brother for sending me a gigantic mug and my aunt for sending me tea. You're both enabling me. Thanks!
  • Coffee. Every morning, I mix it with chocolate milk. Sometimes I even carry some with me to my morning classes.
The countdown until I go home next has begun, and autumn is full force. It's a good day.

  1. And don't forget when you talk about blessings that you have allowed God to use you to bless those around you.
    Thanks.
