Well, I guess blogging wasn't really at the top of my priority list these past few weeks. Between nursing interviews and Aristotle readings, I have been a little busy. Although, I've also found time to watch a TV series with my roommate (hey, it was only eight episodes) and keep up (and surpass) the reading for book club. So I guess it really does come down to priorities.
The week after the ice days, me and my nursing friends went through the nursing interviews. It seemed like a really big deal, even though everyone agreed that the interviews themselves seemed very laid-back and easy. I haven't heard if I was accepted, deferred, or rejected yet. I do expect to find out before spring break, but I might also find out when I get back. If you know me, you're aware that I will worry about something, but then I'll get to the point where I just want to get it over with. I was that way when I got my braces on, when I took my driving test, and now with this application process. It was stressful beforehand, but now I just want to know the results. I'm done with worrying about it.
My Ethics class is definitely the most intense of my classes this semester. I can handle reading, and I even managed to grasp Aristotle with relative easy. But the amount of time that reading and understanding for that class is more than even my Anatomy & Physiology class. So a lot of my "free time" is consumed by juggling this class with my World Lit class. English has been one of my favorite classes so far. Last semester, my roommate and I took the same class at different times, and we would talk about the stories and poems outside of the classroom regularly (we do that now with the Human Growth & Development class that we're both in). This semester, I'm in World Lit, which is just as enjoyable. There is way more reading, though, and I have to make sure that I set apart enough time to complete the reading. Voltaire is not quite as fun to read as Erynn Mangum is, but I don't get graded over one of those authors. So priorities comes in to play again. (I had no idea that there was going to be an almost theme to this post. Happy accident, as Bob Ross might have said.)
Spring break is quickly approaching now, and I am so excited to see my family and friends at home again, as well as to have easy access to toilet paper that is better than 1-ply. And though setting aside schoolwork for an entire week is hardly a realistic idea, it will be nice to take a break from college before tackling the second half of the semester.
