Family

Note to self: catching up on sleep during a weekend when my family comes down just isn't going to happen. But I don't really think I care :)

It'd been about three weeks since I had gotten to see my family. That's the longest I've gone without seeing them. I don't really know if this last week counted or not, because I was so excited to see them that I couldn't be bothered with the painful missing of them. But still, it had been a while.

Friday night, I waited for them to finally get here. When they arrived, I talked nonstop as my tired parents patiently drove to find me ice cream, despite the late hour. Then they dropped me and my sister off back at my dorm. Naturally, we stayed up even later eating popcorn, watching an old movie, and laughing at lame jokes and movie-references.

It was a very good time :)

Saturday morning, my family and I went shopping at the mall.

Mom and Dad were our navigators.

Bass Pro Shops had a scary amount of Crocs.

We saw our first ever Lego store. It was pretty exciting for my brother and me.

My sister spotted these fashion statements. (Hahaha oh I'm funny)

There was a Disney store and they had Olaf costumes and my sister and I were excited and a little weirded-out. But they didn't have it in our size. Darn.

Look at this treasure that we found in Hot Topic, a really dark and goth-like store that has some happy surprises hidden in the shadows!

THIS DRESS

We went into a Fossil store. Dangerous place. These sunglasses were on sale and still cost more than what I make in a week. So we settled with just taking a selfie :)

After the mall, we drove across the city to McKay's Bookstore. Oh. My. Goodness.
This picture doesn't even do it justice. The place is huge. They don't just have cheap books; they also have movies and music and video games and I don't even know what else. I found myself surrounded by books and didn't venture out of that section.

My sister and I are awful when it comes to a sensible bedtime. We stayed up late again, eating pie that they brought and watching a couple of more black-and-white movies. We were so tired, but it's hard to go to bed when there's movies to watch and food to eat and things to say.

Today, Sunday, my family went with me to the church I attend. After the service, we had Olive Garden for lunch and ran a couple of errands. I knew that the time for them to leave was approaching. My brother has to work tonight and my father tomorrow, of course. So I knew that they were going to have to leave in the early afternoon. That didn't make it much easier, though. But I don't know that I'd want it to be easier.

Twelve more days until I see them again! ;) :D
