Running In The Rain

Maybe the title of this post sounds really hipster to you. Let me assure you that it isn't. It's quite literal. If you need proof, you can look at my soaked Chucks or jeans.
It didn't start out rainy today. In fact, it started out sunny. I was able to motivate myself enough that I went for a run this morning (note: bribing yourself with the promise of an afternoon nap is a smart way to get you up early). I didn't feel rushed at all during breakfast, and my psychology class was very interesting.

FYI, people, I'll totally be able to explain what's wrong with you by the end of this semester. Just a head's-up ;)

Today in chapel, we practiced being in the presence of God. Is there anything more rewarding, more refreshing than spending time in the presence of the Creator? Just to take the time to praise Him for what He has done and who He is. To tell Him your fears and your joys. As C. S. Lewis said, "[Praying] doesn't change God, it changes me."

So after chapel, I practically inhaled a granola bar on my way to lab, a class that stretches all the way through lunch. Last week, my stomach growled loudly and often during biology lab. This week, though, I was good for nearly half of the period. About halfway through writing down a hypothesis, my stomach decided that it should voice its opinion. But lab was short this week and ended almost a hour early, so YOLO. (<----- Look at me, all hip and cool now that I'm a college student)

Add to my list of joys that I had leftover Panda Express for lunch while watching an episode of Doctor Who, that I was able to sit down at a piano and just play whatever keys I wanted, and that I'm pretty sure I accomplished everything I needed to accomplish today... You can see why running in the rain did not dampen my spirits this afternoon.

Okay. That's a little lame. Sorry.

Anywho. I delighted in little things, like a postcard or a fortune cookie. I tried to do my best in whatever task was at hand. I consciously set aside time today to focus on God. And I ended up having a pretty nice Tuesday. I hope that you did too.
